GRANDMOTHERS in Song & Dance

Were you in Times Square on Valentine's Day?  It was bitterly cold.  No matter, the Grandmothers against the War and their many supporters were there for you.Janfeb_19_2006001    Bev, me, Molly, Barbara--the three of them are members of the group arrested on October 17 in this same place, Times Square, near the Army Recruiting Station.

We sang...we danced--

There's NO business like WAR business [canes forward]...the best business we know [canes back]

Never mind the homeless and the hungry, Nowhere can you get that special feeling...Than seeing cities we've destroyed! [Left arm up, showgirl style]...

We speechified...Vinie Burrows, the actress, one of the 18 arresteJanfeb_19_2006021d grandmothers.

Janfeb_19_2006013_1 Norman Siegel, intrepid lawyer for Grandmothers Against the War with Joan Wile, singer/songwriter who started the weekly vigil at Rockeller Center two years ago-- that started it all.

Janfeb_19_2006027_1 Jenny, to the left, and Ann, two more arrestees-- with hearts for our performance, offered more than once to a cheering crowd.

THE TRIAL of the 18 GRANDMOTHERS is coming up next week....Thursday, April 20, in New York City.    Please be there to give your support:  8:30 AM at the Criminal Court, 100 Centre Street, New York City. Make your statement against the war in Iraq.
