Packing...I had to decide which of many in-process projects, known among blogging knitters as UFOs (unfinished objects) to take along. It is, after all, a knitting retreat, time to ask questions, perhaps begin something more challenging.
This about-to-leave time turned out to be my time to rip. The picture here is a beanie-type hat, imagine the bottom edge being pulled onto a head. I began it earlier in the summer. Diagonal mesh stitch with Cascade Fixation. I like this yarn but grew less fond of the color as time passed. And so, you can see the rip as it disappears. Very freeing.
To fill the time I'm away, blogs here for the next 10 days will be mostly picture posts.
And a wish for movement toward peace in the world. Even John Stewart has proposed a solution.

Keep thinking "PEACE" as you knit while on retreat. Have a grand time and post lots of pics....maybe it will inspire me to pick up my needles again.
