"Tell me about this photo," I asked the website designer who ran a yarn shop. "I'm very proud of the way I captured her eye centered in the chicken wire.... Someone gave me three old hens. They were not doing well, but they're doing better. Still lay eggs, sometimes round, sometimes oblong." Toby Smischny, Libery, Maine. (photo is a notecard, used with permission)

I'm amazed she was able to capture that!

Hello, Found your blog searching "Geri Valentine". You have a picture posted of a sign in a town near my home "3 more years of treachery". This sign is in Athens, ME. A town that was very pro Bush republican. The building in the picture has been knocked over more than once and now has an updated sign. I will get a picture and forward it to you if you would like. Athens has the distinction of being one of the poorest locations in Maine. (West Athens being the poorest) The people who own this building and the signs are brave indeed, and much admired by myself. They used to put things in the building for free, like a miniature "free store". I used to drop of my excess produce. Alas since the election of GW this free store has closed. Kind Regards, Ann a granny who longs for beautiful white hair.
