ary 8, Brenna Roxie arrived in Manhattan. Here she is on that very day. Leanne, her mom, was very pleased with her timely arrival. Nick, our son's response to how it felt to hold her, "I love it!"
Her first name is in memory of her other grandmother, Brenda.
Roxie's arrival marks a new chapter for Ron and me. Nearby grandparenting added to grandparenting at a distance with our two in Portland, Oregon. Is a new category needed for this blog? And so life has intervened in my posting schedule. Between more wonderful encounters with Roxie, I will try to catch up on the last couple of weeks.

Nearby grandparenting is wonderful, especially with infants. I envy you that; my baby is already 7 and I am in need of a baby to hold! Congratulations!

Oh Naomi, wonderful! Congratulations. I just love those two photos! Your granddaughter looks like she is actually talking to her father. And maybe she does :)

AAAAAAWWWWWWWW....gorgeous! And a beautiful name: Roxie. Bright and beautiful family. I love the newborn phase...and those little round, flat English Muffin bottoms! And those random smiles to the universe. And the smell of that silky hair....Enjoy Grandma!

Mazel Tov Granny!!! I see a bunch of tiny knitted things in Roxie's future.
Take good care of Roxie's parents while they get their bearings. Prepared meals!
xo,
Martha

I hope I have grandchildren nearby. I'm betting you will have a completely different experience -- one that doesn't depend on trying to aggregate everything into a pinched time.
Congrats! Looks like a healthy, happy fam.

Oh! Blessings to you! To Roxie (love the name)! To your son and daughter-in-law. The girl looks robust. And big! I love to see the skin-to-skin positioning of baby and mama.
They are lucky to have you nearby and, my mother says, you to have them nearby!
