President Obama declares H1N1 national emergency
Here's a petition to sign to remind Obama that even with this crisis, we will continue to push him and Congress on a public option Petition for the Public Option from Progressive Change Campaign Committee.

This is a mess that Obama inherited. At this point it's going to be triage, baby!

My dtr and granddtr have survived Swine Flu and both are in prime age groups of concern. They haven't had a fun time getting through it -- vomiting for my granddtr, high temps for both for several days then recurring, body aches all over, vocal hoarseness. The wracking coughing persisted even today when we spoke on the phone. The decision about whether or not to take the vaccine shot has become a moot point that many in her community still debate as more fall victim to the flu. Today she heard of a location in her Richmond, VA. area that had 40 -- get that -- only 40 shots available. How weird is that number! A friend taking a special education hyperactive son to get it had to wait in line for three hours as they were also administering the regular flu shot and I don't know what all else. Ridiculous! The young son with all his attention deficits and action control issues is a tremendous challenge for waiting anywhere for even an hour.
A Southern-state friend emailed today her dtrs and their families have all had that flu. Unfortunately one of the gals, my dtrs age, has a history of asthma and her flu became bronchitis, so she continues to battle the symptoms after three weeks now.
